It seems only natural to put a mirror in your bedroom, doesn’t it?
I mean, that’s where you get dressed in the morning and snap your #ootd #fashionista #dailylook for Insta isn’t it?
Well, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you want good bedroom feng shui then there are a few things you might want to consider:
1. Large mirrors represent the water element and therefore create too much yang energy for a room that needs to be yin. This stimulating energy can then reflect off the mirror and bounce around the room making it difficult to sleep.
2. It is said that when you sleep your soul leaves your body at night and can be startled by its reflection in the mirror. This can result in disturbed sleep and waking feeling tired and unrested.
3. It can cause relationship problems because any tension between a couple is reflected back and forth by the mirror. Some say it can even invite a third party in (maybe you’re into that kinda thing?), as in affairs (oh, hell NO!).
What about bedrooms that have mirrored wardrobe doors?
Replace them! (not kidding)
Obviously this isn’t the easiest solution for most, and if this is the case, see if you can reverse the doors so that the mirrors are on the inside or cover them up with a sheet or curtain at night while you sleep.
Still a hassle, I know.
But it’s important to get the feng shui of your bedroom right because the energy here has a greater influence on your life as it’s where you spend a lot of time.
However, this doesn’t mean you can’t have a mirror in the bedroom at all.
Great spots to hang your mirror are in the walk-in-robe or on the inside of the wardrobe door – places where they can be hidden, covered or closed off!
