I’m Jemma, and I’m all about the feng shui life.
And what do I mean by that?
I believe in working with the intricacies and delicacies of our environment, the ability of nature to heal and nourish, and the power of the mind and attitude in creating the life that we dream of and deserve.
It all started a few years ago when something happened to me.
I got clucky.
So I embarked on a mission to improve my lifestyle and nurture my body in order to give myself the best chance of conceiving a healthy baby.
I started researching natural wellness and was shocked to learn of the myriad of chemicals with which we surround ourselves and unknowingly put on and into our bodies every day that are detrimental to our health.
This discovery was the catalyst for change and I began buying organic produce and slowly replacing household cleaning products and makeup with natural alternatives.
I am now a mother to two beautiful little girls and my priority is their health and wellbeing.
Having experienced the benefits first hand, this way of living now just seems so right to me.
But, if I’m being honest, I don’t go completely cray-cray with it.
While I do my best for the majority of the time, like any normal person with limited time and money, sometimes I can’t be arsed cooking hormone-free, grassfed steak with a side of sprouted quinoa salad for dinner, and it’s just so much easier to pick up some Thai takeaway on a Friday night. And on a hot, sweaty day, nothing seems to last on my face like my Estee Lauder Double-Wear Foundation.
“So, where does feng shui come into all of this?”, I hear you ask.
Well, feng shui has long piqued my interest since I was a little girl.
It probably has something to do with my mother being Taiwanese and the different aspects of Chinese culture always having an influence on my life while growing up. I already had a basic understanding of feng shui from reading various books on it in the past, but it wasn’t until I commenced my health mission that I recalled its value and how it can work to improve all areas of one’s life and decided to take the leap and become a qualified feng shui consultant. I completed my studies at the most comprehensive, government accredited feng shui course in Australia and haven’t looked back!
Not only am I certified in the most advanced and accurate school of feng shui, Flying Star (Xuan Kong Fei Xin), I have also been formally trained in geobiology (the effect of the earth energies and environmental forces on life), space clearing and Chinese astrology.
The underlying principle of feng shui instantly resonated with me;
Everything is ultimately made up of energy and is connected with one another.
Not only physical objects, but also your thoughts and emotions.
Have you ever been able to pick up on someone else’s mood the second they stepped foot through the door? Well, that’s why. Your energy connected with their energy.
I have also been amazed at the accuracy of feng shui at reading what is occurring in my own and other people’s lives.
I can analyse someone’s house using feng shui and tell whether their career or love life is suffering.
And it’s not because I have mystical powers or that I’ve been Facebook stalking them. It’s because according to feng shui, you are drawn to particular houses that reflect your current state of life. It’s the law of attraction. You receive what you put out into the universe.
At one level, feng shui is about balancing the relationship between Yin and Yang energies to create a harmonious living environment.
Complementing dark with bright;
Soft with sharp;
Heavy with light;
Curved with straight.
I translate this notion into the way I live to create a harmonious life.
Balancing activity with rest;
Eating a balanced diet;
Centring my mind;
Having equal relationships.
Sounds pretty simple, right?
By harmonising the energies in your home, adjusting your mind set and truly cherishing yourself, you can open doors to change, new opportunities and abundance.
